Are you strict about the avatars members use on your forum?

I have always loved to see members of a forum use avatars of their choice, especially when it comes to using avatars based on things they enjoy.

I have known, though, in the past, forum owners be quite strict about the avatars you use on their forum, and I always found that to be a red flag.

Are you strict about the avatars members use on your forum?

They're set as a maximum of 160x160px on mine and so long as people use common sense when choosing an image on not fussed.

All within common sense is fine. But I kind of require them to have an avatar.. I really don't like the empty/default avatars.

I definitely agree with that. It makes the member feel more human.and makes the posts look better.

Avatars on the forum are like your identity, as members know you by your avatar. I always use real pictures of my kids as my avatar. I don't like to chat with a person having no avatar; they seem to be fake people. It's always advisable to have it against your name.

I am not always strict on avatars but I prefer people to have it at least it will make conversations on the forum look real. But I don't allow anything that can offend or distract other members. Meme or funny pictures are ok, just keep it decent.

I don't have a forum anymore. I used to have one growing up, just for fun, but had like 2-3 members. When I did have my own forum, I allowed members a lot of leeway to do whatever they wanted as long as it wasn't overly offensive or contained adult content. I've been a member of many forums, and most people who do put bad avatars, will get banned or get a warning and their avatar would be removed.

If the avatar is nsfw, I will ask them to change it, otherwise, they can use any avatar they wish.
