Important Chat Addicts: In Memory of Ted (Shortie's Dad) 1942 - 2025

For any of you who may remember Chat Addicts from 2009 - 2017, you may remember a staff member on the forum over those years who went by the name of dn31 or Ted. That was my dad.

He helped me run Chat Addicts from 2009 - 2017, and we would often sit down and help each other out with Chat Addicts and I would help him with his forums. It was one way that I found to spend time with my dad.

Unfortunately, on July 29th, 2025. My dad passed after a long battle with Motor Neuron Disease, and also had a chest infection that turned to pneumonia. Antibiotics were no longer working, and my mum and I had to make the tough decision to withdraw all medication and food at the request of my dad on the 20th of July 2025.

Since his passing, I have thought alot about the times with him and I felt it would be the right thing to revive Chat Addicts in his memory.

Accept my deepest condolences for the passing of your dad. Losing a loved one is never an easy thing but we just need to keep the memory alive through the love we have shared with them. May his legacy continue to inspire kindness, strength and unity.
