Do You Meditate? Why Do You Meditate?

There are two purposes of meditation, one, for enlightenment, two, for mental health. Do you meditate, why do you meditate? What kind of meditation do you do. I meditate, and I meditate for both self awareness as well as relaxation, meditation gives me peace of mind as well as improves mindfulness.
 
I am doing meditation from last 10years. I do breath meditation (observing breath). I am doing it for peacefulness and mental health. I can say some emotional Blocks will be released if we practice meditation.
 
I've never done meditation before, but have thought about it. I was going to take up yoga at one point, and I feel like meditation is sort of part of that, at least in some ways. But I think meditation could be good to try. What would you guys recommend for someone who hasn't done meditation yet?
