What's the best advice you've ever received, and who gave it to you?

Was it from a parent, teacher, mentor, or maybe even a random stranger at the right moment? I'm curious if it was one of those pieces of wisdom that clicked immediately or if it took years before you actually understood what they meant. And do you find yourself passing that same advice along to other people now or does it feel like something so personal that it only really applies to your specific situation?

One of the best pieces of advice that sticks with me is never to compare myself with others. I heard it from my uncle and that was when I lost a lot of money and was complaining about life. The advice just hit me so deep. Since then, anytime I feel like I'm behind, I remind myself that everybody is actually running a different race. And each time I remind myself of that, I experience peace. Sometimes that little comparison can spoil your mood. It's always better to focus on yourself and believe that things will definitely align someday.
