How do you handle stress and maintain work-life balance in today's fast-paced world?

Hey.. with everything happening so quickly nowadays I often wonder how people manage stress and keep their work-life balance intact. Do you have any go-to tricks or routines that help you unwind and stay grounded? It’s tough sometimes to find that balance isn’t it? I’d love to hear what works for you.. any tips for staying sane in this busy world?

...For real, if I could only give a tip it would be to defend your boundaries.
  • I no longer go out of my way as my default. If there is an odd situation that requires extra and I know I am with a team that will appreciate it and properly compensate me for it, I can be game.

  • I now ask for my birthday off and I try to take at least two weeks off in a row twice a year. I used to hoard my accumulated time off for a rainy day but I was doing my mind a disservice.

  • I try to have something to look forward for the weekend. It can be expensive like going to the Zoo or free like going for a picnic. It just has to be something that give me an experience outside my routine and can help me ride through my lows.

  • I always kept at least an activity for self improvement to do through the week. I usually have a few I circle through. They are meant to be simple 10mins. For example, right now I am trying to learn French with duolingo. Will I ever be fluent? Who knows? I am doing it just for fun, so I am not feeling pressured.
